Motor Brake Unit

Electromagnetic Brakes -engage when the power goes on creating friction and are therefore known as Power On brakes. These brakes are either bearing mounted or shaft mounted and are available most commonly with 24 or 96VDC stators/magnets. Other voltages may be available upon request.

Permanent magnet Brakes –When the brake is engaged, the permanent magnets create magnetic lines of flux, which can in turn attract the armature to the brake housing. To disengage the brake, power is applied to the coil which sets up an alternate magnetic field that cancels out the magnetic flux of the permanent magnets. . Servo motors are a very popular application for these brakes.
